We are doing xophenex and hyper sal, then 3 hrs later doing albuterol. Rotating all day. She started steroids yesterday, which I think are helping. I am really hoping to keep her out of the hospital.
CF affects each person differently. I have heard of severe cases at just a couple months old. Our CF dr told me recently that he just preformed a lung transplant on a 2 month old. My 5 year old has cultured pseodo the last 3 years in the month of June. It's the month that we start swimming. So...
My kindergartener is the one with CF. I was a teacher for 8 years and definitely do not want her to experience what I saw. There are some really awful teachers out there. Parents send their students sick all the time. I want to keep my daughter as healthy as long as possible. She has never been...
We are about to start the k12 program. It is a free online public school. They provide all of the materials and still give you the freedom to work at your own pace. There is a certified teacher that is available to help your child. I have 2 that will be in the program, an 8th grader and...
Yes, this is a neighborhood pool. I know swimming is a great excercise, but is contracting pseudomonas worth it just for the excercise? Do any of you use the test strips?
We just got the news that my daughter cultured pseudomonas again. She is 5. She cultured it the same time last year. We have done lots of swimming, I would like to know if I should stop letting her swim. We do live in south Louisiana, and she could have gotten it when the weather has become hot...
My daughter has that as well. Our CF team also referred us to her pediatrician. They gave me the estrogen cream, in which it did open up. This was last year and has since closed up. I plan on scheduling another apt to try it once more. I have often wondered the same thing you have mentioned.
Where do most of you get your meds from? We have been using the CF services pharmacy for years now. My daughter was just accepted for Medicaid in Louisiana where we live. I found out yesterday that they are not in contract with them. It would really help to have her medicines covered.
I am scheduled to have my baby Monday via C-section. My first child has cf and passed the meconium in the birth canal and continued for a few days. At the time we had no idea that this was a sign of cf. My question is, do all newborns have the meconium at birth, or within a few days?
