I've had my port for 9yrs so i'm a pro. As for shower u can take a shower way to keep the port dry are use some plactic medical tape and saran wrap and cover the port acces area, its ok if the tubing gets wet. Or u can use the Tegaderm HP, it a clear plastic port Dressing thats water proof...

My two cents on this....I too have never been embarassed about my disease or let it run my life. I am a very happy person and i think that i'm in a way a better stronger person because of the CF. It has taught me lessons that most healthy people dont get to lean or realize. How ever i do agree...
