    CF and Work

Hi Radies, I relate completely to what you are saying. I worked for a very small (12 employees) company for a year and did not disclose my cf. I was covering for a woman on a long maternity leave. The nature of teh position meant I had to keep in close contact with her and we became v close...

CF related Sunburns? (Not caused by antibiotics)

Come to think of it my dietician did mention that my vit D levels were the highest she'd seen in her cf patients! All my vitamins are always well within normal (if not in the upper) range, with the exception of vit A as retinol, vitamin A as carotene is absolutely fine but retinol is a bit low.

CF related Sunburns? (Not caused by antibiotics)

I amabout 75%Irish blood, with some Italian from my father's side. I live in a mild rainy climate with barely any sunshine but AS SOON as the sun is out I start to tan and will go very dark if I stay out in it! I like it! Although I have to be careful because after a week sun bathing on vacation...

    Need Reccommendations

Muchlove I'm so sorry to hear about this struggle. I would agree with the others that playing around with enzyme doses could help, try increasing gradually over a few days and see if it helps. In addition try to note if there are certain foods that bring on BMs more so than others. Your body...

    PICC line

No the tip is well into the atrium, I saw it on the scan monitor flailing about with ever heart beat. Apparently this is the latest recommendation to avoid PICC-associated narrowing of the vessels. I specifically asked why it needed to be in so far and that's what the radiologist said. The...

    PICC line

I'm curious to know if anyone else feels heart palpitations from a PICC line which extends into the heart atrium? I was told it could happen and won't cause any damage but still...it bothers me to think of my heart getting involved when it's such a well behaved organ!

    Best birth control?

A couple of things regarding some of these comments that I have learned when asking the questions you are asking- -the patch may not be as effective in cf due to increased salt on the skin - they really aren't sure whether the pill is affected by malabsorption- the problem in cf is more due to...
