You could try doing extra airway clearance and drinking a couple cups of coffee (and some water to not dehydrate). Coffee is a bit of an asthma drug.
But why not just go in and get accurate numbers...a true baseline. I'm assuming they'll have you do albuterol after your first round of PFTs...
definitely up the treatments and rest. also i do stuff like eat fresh pineapple, mangos, salmon, spicy food...
who knows if that makes a difference, but I figure it can't hurt. the waning appetite is an issue, but if I take advil, a half-hour later my appetite is usually up.
my first signs are...
One thing you could look into -- though I don't hear drs bring it up so maybe I'm way off base -- is yeast/fungus. I have a candida species in my lungs and i suspect its why after my last few rounds of abs, I feel better from the fatigue/pain perspective, but I've gurgly upper airway breathing...
The NYTimes "Think Like A Doctor" last month that featured MAC.

I have tree in bud and only some now-distant and then intermittant NTM cultures. My impression is that sometimes the infection can be indolent, and...
I see your points too. :) If I could travel somewhere warm during the winter, I might do it too.
In my case, though, I am sickest in the fall and spring, and not sure anymore that my kids are my biggest source of initial infections. They don't seem to be as constantly contagious with something...
I'm going to throw in a few words for the other side of the argument. I live in a town with a well-regarded public school system and my kids' needs are fairly standard (though not totally). So, anyway, I realize I may be trying to compare apples and oranges here, but...
My number one...
I'm surrounded by people who are married/in committed relationships (I'm raising kids and in that world right now), and I would say that from what I see, there is no such thing as normal, especially if you define normal as worry-free.
Some couples have kids with serious issues, some...
haha, yes & no. I hate diving down the rabbit hole of testing too early. If the symptoms were static or getting worse, I would be at the dr asap, but because of the positive trend, my general feeling of well-being, and knowing the role of stress in my life right now--I'm comfortable waiting.
Here are some old threads that mentions IVF and hemoptysis

When I was reading about PFTs, dlco and vascularization of the lungs, I found some...
Marcie, kidney stones sound worse than my pain, especially with feeling like you need to go to the bathroom on top of the pain. I appreciate you explaining what they feel like so I can compare.
Yesterday I had nothing. The day before maybe 45 min of pain. So I'm on a good trend. Yay. Anything...
Thanks, welshwitch and coltsfan. The symptoms are slowing down. I'm under a ton of stress right now, so I don't know what to make of what. :) I'm crossing my fingers that the pain gets less and less. (I eat plenty of fat and drink seltzer...but the morning symptoms are on an empty stomach.)
Yeah, that's on my maybe list. Along with esophageal spasms and lung infection away from the periphery. I'm doing the wait and see, but I'll update if it persists and I get checked out. Any other quesses, anyone?
Three of the past four days, I've woken up with a sharp pain under the lower part of my right rib cage, more toward my back than front. I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar and knows what it is. It's not my usual lung-related pain, because it's not worse when I inhale...
LL,
My impression of this was that incontinence stems from chronic cough putting pressure on the lower abdominal organs. (Uterus is more my issue than bladder...)
Gemmy,
Are you person or a computer program assigned to post your convoluted messages and get your spam in each thread on this...
I'm a fellow parent and I do not want people putting my kids on their Facebook pages for ANY reason. Social media is not benign and this is an important boundary issue, not a crime and not an issue of shame, but one of privacy and boundaries. We're all negotiating a new world where nothing is...
Autumn,
I can just imagine your store toilet/tornado/death scenario. Ugh!
In my accident, we pulled over into a office bldg parking lot. I was planning to run (w/my 7 yr old) into the building to use the bathroom while the woman stood by our cars--how odd a request would that have...
I'm resurrecting this thread because today...
I rear ended someone because of my desperation to get to a toilet. Literally got in a car accident.
No one was hurt. The other driver was going slowly at a green arrow left, I was sweating and clenching and adjusting in my seat and was less than...
Could you have this test done instead?

I will admit, I had painful esophageal spasms every time I swallowed for the maybe 3-4 days this thing was attached inside me, BUT I was just in some "lucky" 1-3%. Most...
