I'm looking to temporarily relocate to help build a new community of people...take advantage of the crisis and reclaim the city before the condos start popping up and we go back to the old ways of doing things. Currently in Portland OR.
But I'm wondering if anyone with CF is there. I hear the...
Hello all,
We are friends and roommates of Lief Bamberg, cystic fibrosis patient in Portland, OR. He was recently hospitalized and didn't respond well to antibiotics.
We've started a fundraiser for him to get this treatment. You can find the link here! Please spread the word...
It's better than bodybuilding. I'm doing starting strength. I've gained 15 lbs in 3 months. I've had a history of fitness my whole life. I'm now 6', 160 lbs.
ALl indications is that this progress will continue. And my lung function has stabalized for the last year as well.

I've played banjo for a while. But I recently started playing trombone.
I have to say, the trombone REALLY helps with the lungs! String instruments are a lot of fun, but wind instruments will open your lungs, keep them clear, and give you a great incentive to do breathing exercises. I would say...
I heard an NPR broadcasting of bacteriophages--viruses that attack bacteria cells--and I had an aha moment. I was wondering if it could be used for therapies, and as it turned out, later in the broadcast they discussed how this therapy is prevalent in Eastern Europe, specifically the Republic of...
Hello. I had my first CF exacerbation recently. In the hospital for about 8 days. They said I was super healthy for my relatively low FEV of 40% (after drop). I do p90x, and workout a lot.
Anyway, I was hospitalized and feeling a bit sick. Antibiotcis and tons of treatments helped me cough up...
Super long story short, I need some meds.
I need 2-3 days worth of enzymes and albuterol. I have CF services pharmacy deliver that has been delayed and i won't get the medicine from Tuesday. My doctor's office is closed on the weekend; i'm vacationing out of state and no where, ER, clinics, RX...
Hey just wondering...anyone with CF dating someone else with it?
I've only met 2 people with CF and that was at college; I'm wondering if it would be nicer to date someone with CF because they can understand exactly what you're going through, or worse cause no one would get any sleep with all...
Hope this isn't too taboo.
I was just wondering what experiences people have had, good and bad, related to drugs and alcohol (excluding tobacco).
I'm a vegetarian that exercises daily and is very health conscious. I rarely drink, but I will endulge occaisionally; usually no more than once a...
So this idea came up during debating whether or not to install a humidifier. First of all, the answer to that is never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. Below are some tips to have CF friendly air. It will include some accomodating, but it WILL increase your quality of life.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15272081<br><br>My idea was always to combine these approaches. That's what I want to research someday. For now I'm still putting off grad school. ~sigh.<br><br>I really want to be part of this soon though.<br>
Brief background of myself. I studied biology and biochemistry and graduated in december of 09. I've been on SSI for having a feeding tube from age 14-17. I was temporarily kicked off after a medical review when I was 20, but appealed the decision successfully.<br><br>After college, I applied...
Hello. I found a WWOOF (google that if you're not familiar) that I'd like to volunteer at. But I'm worried about soil exposure and cepacia. My doc said that if I wanted to start a garden, I shouldn't worry about it and just do it. And to not even worry about a mask.<br><br>So that's one thing...
