Hey everyone, I don't post much, so be kind to me

I've been having shoulder pain since last january as a result of a dog walking incident gone wrong. Well, I just started physical therapy for it and the therapist says that...

A while ago someone posted that the Foundation Care Pharmacy was
good place to get relatively inexpensive ($36 for a months
worth of 2 per day), pre-mixed Hypertonic Saline. I've been
looking at their site this morning (http://www.foundcare.com) and
it says they serve the St. Louis and...
I've had problems with this in the past. Sadly, I have no
really good solution except for listening to the doc and rinsing.
As a quick fix (but a bit unpleasant) gargling with salt
water several times a day has cleared it up for me pretty quickly.
Amitriptylin worked very well for me. It turned out to be
really helpful and got rid of my migraines entirely.
Perhaps there is some way you can clear it with your
supervisor/boss if you are interested in trying it so that you
would not get in trouble for it showing on a urine test?
I was having migraines a long time ago and my neurologist put me on
very low doses (can't remember how much) of Amytriptiline (sp?).
It is actually an antidepressant, but in low doses it can
work as a preventative for migraines, according to him. And
yes, check out your sinuses too..they can...
I don't know if there is a problem with ports and mris (hence the
question ). I am worried for two reasons mainly. If
there is magnetic metal in it...it may cause problems since
mri uses magnetic resonance imaging. And the second...
My local doctor wants to do an MRI of my neck/shoulder area to try
to figure out some arm pain I've been having for a while now.
I have a port. I called the surgeon who put it in, he
said there was titanium in it and to talk to a radiologist to see
if I could still have the MRI. The head...
I like to read while doing my vest as well and have found that if I
place nice squishy pillow on my lap, then set the book on that, it
has a sort of a shock absorber affect and the book doesn't shake as
much. Of course, then my book has to fight with my cat for
pillow room, but that is another...
This is from when I was young, probably 10 or more years ago, but think I was on Theophyline (not sure of spelling) for ABPA. I was taken off of it long ago, so I don't know how affective it is, or if it's even an accepted method of treatment now, but I thought I'd throw it out there as an idea.
Everyone-Great Stories! Cf makes me laugh sometimes
Another cough related thing that Katie's post made me think of...I play hide and seek with my nieces and nephews quite a bit. Well, when they were really little, too little to...
Okay, I just thought I'd share this because I think it is funny and get a kick out of it. One of my friends complains (in a nice, lighthearted fun humor way-no hard feelings we both enjoy it) about my cough. He says that my cough actually startles him, or feels like an explosion to his ears...
Yes, it happens to me as well. I feel like I'm always cleaing my throat/coughing so that I can talk normally. It is quite annoying but those that know me have gotten used to it. I think it has actually slacked off just a bit since starting hypertonic saline, but it is still noticeable...
I have mucoid Psuedo! Huh, thanks for posting the question, I never bothered to ask what it was. Interesting stuff.
And as far as being a freak of nature, I think we all lay claim to that equally
Okay, I think I found the info you were looking for.

Basically, the most common mutation with CF is the Delta F508 mutation. In this mutation, the...
Oh, one more thing.
The salty sweat is also caused by the lack/malfuction of the CFTR protein. A lot of salt is produced in the sweat glands and travels with the sweat to the surface of our skin. Normally, CFTR proteins would line the sweat duct and remove a lot of the salt from the sweat and...
