I'm as regular as clockwork with my period and I've noticed that in addition to "normal" PMS symptoms like fatigue, breakouts and craving sweets, I have a noticeable change in my cough. It's more of a dry persistent cough. My voice sounds weird too, like it does when my allergies are flaring up.
My theory is that since my body has to fight so hard to maintain itself on a day to day basis, when my period comes around my body puts all its effort into that at the expense of everything else. It's sort of like my body says "all hands on deck! We're going hormonal!" and everything else is relegated to the back burner for 8 days.
Has anyone else noticed something similar around their time of the month? If so, any suggestions for keeping the cough and allergy symptoms at bay?
