?? about intestinal bacteria

Now I probably should know this, but if I am, I cant think!

If we have PA, MRSA or whatever in our lungs. Do we have it in our intestines? When taking antibiotics it causes havic on our bellies with diahrea etc often requiring probiotics.

SO if the intestines themselves have an influx of PA, MRSA etc like the lungs....do the meds we take for our lungs kill whats in the intestines? IF NOT or IF it takes longer could it be one of the reasons why it takes awhile to bounce back after an exacerbation expecially with the weight.

Now I have heard of a few have C-Diff which is an intestinal infection correct? Is this in place of the PA or MRSA infections or in addition to if they exist?

Am I making sense?

K. The intestines and digestive system can have PA or MRSA but it doesn't cause damaging harm like what occurs in our lungs or sinuses.

You take pro-biotics when on antibiotics because antibiotics kill HELPFUL bacteria that live in our intestines and digestive system. These helpful bacteria are also called "normal flora". Lactobacillus sp. as well as Clostridium sp. are there as well and often assist with digestion. It's when these bacteria overgrow or reach other areas of the body we have issues.

We have bacteria throughout our whole bodies all the time. Most people have Staph all over their skin surface area. It's when the staph reaches wounds or breaks through the skin that these problems occure. Same with your intestines and digestive tract. It's when abx kill off normal flora in your digestive tract that allows and overgrowth of other normal flora that you have issues such as C. Diff.

Hope that helps!
