Aflac sickness insurance and SSDI

I have an Aflac short term disability policy. It covers me for up to 6 months paying out a set daily rate of ~$70. I've made claims on the policy 3 times (once for childbirth, a second time for cf sickness and a third during the waiting period for SSDI payments to start) and it has proven very worth while.

When I quit work to stay home full time on SSDI, I was able to take the Aflac policy with me. I have continued to pay the policy amount each month which is around $60.

Now that I am on SSDI do you think I would even qualify to make a claim? On the claim form there's an employer section that has to be filled out explaining how much work I've missed etc. How would that work now that there isn't an employer?

Basically what I'm asking is does full time disability by the US gov't make you inelgible for short term disability?

Secondly, if you were in my shoes and could't make a claim would you keep the policy "live" anyway? Making the monthly payment isn't a problem. If I ever go back to work I could never get this policy again. Cfers are no longer elgible.

Thought I should explain this is not a hospital indemnity policy but rather just a sickness policy. My doctor just has to sign off that I am sick. The first 7 days are not covered.
