Alaskan Cruise

My boyfriend and I are thinking of going on an Alaskan cruise in August but I have no idea anything about Alaska. I know it will be cold but has anyone gone and had trouble with the elevation or anything?

I also have never been on a cruise so are there things that could be a problem that I am missing?

Basically I am trying to figure out anything that could go wrong!

I don't know about the Alaska part because I have never been, but I have been on a cruise. I went on a cruise in the Caribbean a few months after I was told that I needed the double lung and liver transplant. At first, my doctor didn't want me to go because I only had a 40% lung function, but he ended up okaying it anyway. The only trouble I really had was on the plane when we were taking off. I started coughing pretty bad but once we were at the elevation that the plane needed to be at, I was fine.

I was also fine all throughout the cruise and felt the best that I had felt in a while. Until the last day that is when there were 14ft waves in the ocean and I got a little sick. But once I was back on solid ground, I was fine again.

As for the germs and stuff, just make sure that you are washing your hands frequently or you have hand sanitizer on you. I had a great time and if you go, I hope that you have a great time too!

An old friend of mines Parents went on an Alaskan cruize just last august. I will ask them questions if you give me a list of concerns. They said that it was an amazing experience, and recomended it to my wife and I.

I was just on a 9-hour Alaskan cruise. Yours may be longer than that, but mine was just this past weekend. I even brought my almost 4-month old.

Which cruise are you taking? Mine was out of Valdez. I live in Alaska, so we just drove to Valdez. Let me know any questions you have and I'll be glad to help out. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
