Unfortunately I got class 5 (the worst) at testing me against cats.

Does anyone know a good medication?? Dont want to give my cat away... :-((

I have a cat allergy and own one cat (it was two cats until last year). I take zyrtec for allergies and am getting allergy shots (I just started the shots a few months ago, so it's too soon for me to tell if they help). I also removed the carpet from the bedroom and don't let the cat in there.

Singulair (montelukast sodium--an allergy/asthma daily pill that doesn't overlap with antihistamines)

Allergy immuno therapy as Kristen said (I'm doing this for dogs, cats, mold and dust. I'm on year three and can clean a closet without intense itchy and drippy)

inhaled nasal steroids

inhaled lung steroids

Miele or other vacuum with airtight canister and hepa filter

Room air filter machine with Hepa filter

Have a friend brush your kitty outside once a week.

Good luck!

I am so happy, that no one here told me to give away my cat!!! THANK U SO MUCH. I was thinkin of takin Zyrtec as well, cause I know that stuff already. But I cant remember when I took it... does it make tired and when is the best time to take it?

@Kristen: I dont have any carpet anyway in the bedroom... for godsake I dont!!! Hate that dusty stuff.
But unfortunately I got one in the office where I am working.. its the hell for me. Sneezing and the nose runs the whole day. :-(

Tomorrow I got an docs appointment anyway, I hope he will give me the receipe for the Zyrtec. I was in hospital over christmas for one week and he told me about 3 times to put away my pussycat... I WONT.

Thank you for reading my posting. all the best 2 u both.. Delia!!

I was tested for allergies, and found I was highly allergic to cats. I have 3, not necessarily by choice the 3rd was a stray that joined the family, he climbed into my car on a rainy day and then into my heart. (I know that sounds cheesy Anyway, my allergies have improved over the years. Every now and then they'll trigger something but then I just take an antihistamine and I feel better pretty quick. I tried living without a cat when I was younger, but I missed them. For me the emotional benefits far outweigh the occasional discomfort. There have been many studies that show petting a cat can lower blood pressure, etc... Plus they make me laugh and we all know laughter is the best medicine So here's hoping you keep the kitty

I got already back from the doc.
I had to stay in hospital over Christmas for one week, bcause of an infection of the lungs.
(but no pseudomona, fortunately)

Last fev was 79% and now it rose up to 89% again, I am happy.
For my allergical problem, I got a nosespray called Avamys, its with cortison.
It helps for the swollen sinuses.

He anyway mentioned to put away my cat, yeah well. I didnt expect anything else.
I got as well an receipe for a med called AquaDEK... Vitamin-support.

And I told him, that I started to go to the gym as well.
Just can be good for the whole body and lungs.

How r u guys today???
Delia!!
