Allergies and other things that suck

I'm not preggin!!-But I am preparing to be so, so I was wondering has anyone been on allergy meds (OTC) during pregnancy? Or, had a mom/sister/best friend that has? The only time of year I have allergy sniffles is fall, so they just started. Does anyone know what preg category allergy meds are?-allegra, claritin...

On a side note, I have a cold right now which I'm nursing b/c its a bad one and I was doing so much traveling its caught up with me. One day I had the sniffles, and you know how they 'travel' down to your lungs, the next day it was down there, and coughing more. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"> My sister flew in from Florida last night, to go to bridal salons to find her wedding dress. I can't go. My heart is really broken. I rarely feel a pity party when I can't do things, I'm used to it, aren't we all? But this is MAJORLY bothering me. God, I'm gonna cry. This sucks.

Christian,

so sorry to hear that your dealing with a cold and missing out wedding dress shopping. I hope you feel better soon. Hopefully getting to be with your sister some will help.

I personally have never been pregnant, but I know that my sister-in-law took zytec for a couple of months while she was pregnant with no issues. I just did a quick search and it's pregnancy category B, BUT it's not recommended for nursing. However, in my SIL's case, it worked great for the period when she was pregnant when she needed it. I'm guessing there is something you can take while nursing -- I'd say ask! Allergies are so prevalent I can't imagine there not being anything.

Hope your chest is feeling better today,

Elizabeth
