I just hate this disease.. In case any one is wondering.... I just found out that another friend of mine has died. He was an "older"Cfer his name was Dave. I don't want to say his last name on here but he was from NJ. Went to clinic in PA.

He was married, and had to very, beautiful kids that he loved more then anything.. For a long time Dave AKA as Monday... didn't want to have a lung transplant because he had so much scaring in his lungs he was afraid he wasn't going to live.. In recent days he told me that he had changed his mind.

Ironically he and John and I were friends.. He and John cracked me up so hard because they were so funny to talk to. In recent days with John being so sick. I leaned on him a lot for support... so I feel terrible that I didn't even know that he was so sick.. I was so wrapped up in myself. I don't want this post to be about me I want it to be about another CFer who lost their life to this crumby disease....

Please keep Daves family in your thoughts and prayers...

Jenn -

I'm so sad to hear about Dave! I had "known" him online for many moons, back to the IRC chat room days (early to mid 90s). I enjoyed his sarcastic wit. I'm with you, ugh I hate this disease! On another note, hope you are doing better. I've followed your hospitalization mess and been praying for you on a daily basis friend! Take care of yourself!

Love,

Lori

I guess since it is posted online, here is the link if anyone wants to read it.. He was David Paynter......

I know he got to live longer then a lot of ppl with CF so he was blessed in that aspect.. My heart breaks for his little girls..

His life is worth reading...

Thanks Guys....I know you guys undestand what it is like to deal with this crap... I don't want you to feel sorry for me, though I will miss him a real lot.. I posted because I want ppl to know about Dave....

I am afraid I will detract from his life if I make it about me...and it isn't about me.. It is about his poor kids, and his wife.

Yes Dave wasn't dx with CF until I think he was 19 years old.. He was sick a lot as a kid but not properly dx. He worked as an RT for a long time, he used to work with other CF patients, that was before the cross contamination rules.

He was married to a really wonderful women who is a Pediatric Nurse Practioner. Dave was really proud of her, I hope she knows that.

IN recent years Dave has been real sick. I truley hope he is breathing free now and finally at peace.
