I am just wondering what others use as an aniinflammorty. I have been using prenisone --alternate day at 30 mg. for years now and am wondering if there is something else to use that would be beneficial.

If you keep your bacteria count way down in the first place, won't that automatically greatly reduce your inflamation?

the only inhaled antibiodic that helps pseudomonas is Tobi. The zithromax just helps with inflamation. I am doing a clinical study on the effecdtiveness of a new inhaled antibiodic for pseudomonas.

OP, you can use azithromycin, inhaled steroids or ibuprofen. i dont think there is any need to be on oral steroids for cf related inflammation. its overkill and we all know steroids arent good for you. in fact i dont think the doctors here even prescribe prednisolone for cf related inflammation anymore unless you are an unusual case and you dont respond to anything. azithromycin and inhaled steroids seems to be the norm.

My doctor has had me on Biaxin for years for its anti-inflammatory benefits. He said the Biaxin has the same anti-inflammatory action as the zithromax. For some reason i really like the Biaxin, but never cared much for the zithromax. It felt like the Zithromax was a waste of time, but the Biaxin seems to be a better choice for me. I take it twice a day every day.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thank you for your advice Kylie--I was wondering what kind of inhaled steriod you are referring to? Is it something like Pulmicort?
