Anyone experience dried brown blood in mucus

I am just wondering if anyone else has experience with dried up
blood in their mucus.  I am a 38 year old female who is
feeling good.  I had a couple of strands of Pseudo.  The
last couple of weeks I've been getting dried up blood from time to
time.  I can tell it's been in there awhile.  I've been
exercising more lately and my O2 sat has gradually gone up from 89,
I was getting over a cold a month ago, to 97 yesterday which is my
best.  I feel that it is good, that I am clearing out a bunch
of old stuff from my lungs.  But I am curious as to what
others experiences are with it.  I got the cold at the
beginning of July on a trip to Vegas.  I took cipro for ten
days, and also started my tobi.  After the cipro, I was
feeling back to normal somewhat but continued the tobi as usual.
I really felt bad like I was dying.  I was exhausted,
sleeping alot, doing all of my treatments, and really depressed.
the worst part was the being unable to breath al throughout
the day.  One day I checked my o2 oximeter to get an idea of
where I was at compared to the past.  I woke up at 93, did my
treatments and went down to 89.  The next day I checked it
again and the same thing happened my numbers went down after my
albuterol and tobi.  So the third day i didn't do the
albuterol and tobi, I just did my advair and went about my
business.  I felt so different the third day.  I could
breath finally throughout the whole day, I had energy, I didn't
have to watch my breathing all day like I 'had, and the most weird
thing was that my depression was lifted.  Since then I've been
increasing my exercise and I'm feeling so much better.  I
think I am one of those people that experiences bronchospasms with
those nebulized medications.  The amount of mucus that I am
producing is reduced and there isn't as much of it as before.
Also, in regards to the dried blood, I had not experienced
any hemopytosis(spelling?) recently which is even weirder to me.
I used to have like twenty crackles when I'd breath in and
now I don't have any, so my theory is that I'm coughing up alot of
old mucus.  <br>

When I started having brown mucus, I was feeling fine also. Shortly after, I had a sputum culture done and I had a mycobacterium bug. It is manageable so far. The brown mucus still comes and goes occasionally. I am not saying this is what is going on with you. Just is my experience with it.

I get this once and awhile as well. I would think that maybe you popped a blood vessel a little while ago, and are now just coughing that dried blood up. Have you thought about maybe you're allergic to TOBI? There are people out there who are allergic to it, and it does causes spasms like you mentioned. TOBI can also cause lung bleeding as well. Its something to look into anyway, and ask your doc. How long have you been on TOBI?

Thanks for the feedback.  I've been doing the tobi 28 day
on/off deal.  How would I find out if I'm allergic to Tobi?
Does the doctor just assume it since I have problems with it.
i also had a similar gagging sensation from doing the
hypertonic saline.  After saline I feel like a constant
sensation of my lungs closing up all day, sort of like someone
choking me randomly.  On Tobi, I feel the sensation of my
lungs being closed up completely and I have to gasp for air all day
long.

If you get really bad bronchial spasms - then its more then likely you're allergic. The sensation you describe sounds like you're allergic. I had this with Tobra, and had to switch to TOBI. Have you tried Colistin? Some people can handle this rather then TOBI.

I've never heard of anyone having shortness of breath from albuterol, usually it has quite the opposite effect. But of course we all are different.
It took me a long time to realize that TOBI was what was causing me to have this repressive shortness of breath. When I stopped using TOBI, instantly I felt more 'open' and could breathe better.
