anyone have experience with a bright spot

My youngest now 15 months showed bright bowel on our 20 week ultrasound. We actually had no further ultrasounds and everything turned out great no bowel problems after birth nothing. Our technician just said it can be an indicator of CF and it was nothing to be concerned about.

We had that issue with my 6yr old. Did not cause any problems. We were very lucky.Dr I saw at that time never said anything about it. With my 4yr old never showed bright bowel. The dr is ordering extra ultrasounds to watch for it this time.

Yes I did have that with my youngest. They followed me a lot closer with him then with our first one b/c we didn't know what CF was or that we were carriers. I was told that it is just a chance when it shows the brightness but that is a possible sign of CF. Good luck

I forgot to tell that in the end they actually did an ultrasound before I was to deliver and they showed stuff floating around in the amniotic fluid. They did an amniocintesis (sp) and it was yellow. Anyways what they came to find out was that there very well was a blockage that worked itself out and that is what was floating around.

With our oldest we did have to go through the surgery for meconium elias (sp). I would just try to enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can and know that you have a great community here that will help you through whatever happens. You get through it and it starts to begin the parents being strong for their CF child(ren) for the future.
