Austraila to New York

Hi everyone
I'am from Melbourne Australia and we are planning a trip to New York in September/October.
We have a 9 year old with CF (Ben).
Can anyone help us with Accommodation advice in New York, we are on a tight budget.

go to hotels.com, they usually have better deals than booking directly through a hotel. you can pick a hotel based on proximity to a certain landmark, price, etc. i have booked many hotels here in the states and in france through them and have never been disappointed. i also use tripadvisor.com to find reviews of hotels from people that have stayed there in the past. those 2 sites should help immensely.
