Avent IQ

OK...I have serious concerns about the water reservoir on this sterilizer. Am I being paranoid. There is no way to disassemble and get to the water changer. How do you make sure that it is clean under there and not growing stuff? I am all for simplicity; but, I was disappointed when I got this thing today. I may return it and get a NUK. From the youtube video it looks like it has a pan-like thing that you have access to. I don't like a "hidden" water chamber that you can never scrub or even see.

thoughts?

I have the Avent IQ and have the same concern, which is why after every use I empty and dry out the unit with clean paper towels. I then leave the cover off or partially off until next use. I also soak it occasionally in one part distilled white vinegar, two parts distilled water...however this is mainly for for mineral buildup and not sterilization. I am interested to see if any one else has comments on this because it seems there are people who let it run 24 hours a day. Doing that would definitely make life easier and save time, but it makes me nervous about something growing in there.

Okay, am I missing something here? If the thing heats the water hot enough to kill all bacteria--which apparently the CFF says it does--why does it matter?

I am waiting for mine from Amazon.... I am using distilled water and then I plan to keep it uncovered so it dries out real well. I kind agree with the last post that if it is suppose to kill stuff then mute point, but I can also see the concern what if stuff gunks up in there.... Ugh!
