Baby is NOW spitting his enzymes.

My son has always been very good about taking his enzymes with his applesauce...About a month ago he started pushing out the ezymes/applesauce out of his month so I purchased some Gerber Dutch Apple Sauce...ooh and he loved it. Problem solved. Well, now after this weekend he has discovered how to blow big bubbles and spit what he doesn't want in his mouth out. I have never started putting his enzymes in Banana Gerber. But, the spitting continues...It is becoming a battle to get those things down. Is this just a stage? Any of you other moms/dads have a problem with this? Any tricks?

Thanks YOu

We've been through something very similar. I keep a spoon nearby and when she spits out, I scoop it back in. I also asked my doctor if it was ok to give make her enzymes up with an extra 1/2 capsule, just to make sure she gets all of the enzymes because inevitably she never gets them all, he was ok with that. You might want to ask your doc. Sometimes I just open up the capsule and dump the enzyme straight down her mouth. I immediately chase it with her bottle. Other times I use rice cereal or rice cereal flavored with bananas, I mix in her creon, give her a spoonful then chase it with the bottle, pull out her bottle, give her another spoonful, then put the bottle immediately back in. I do this until it's all gone, but sometimes she gets upset with me yanking her bottle away. We have used baby bananas as well, she liked that better than the applesauce. Sometimes it's a fight to give her enzymes and other times she takes them easily. It just depends on her mood.
