If it will improve your sleep, therefore improve your quality of life, I say go for it.

I am so sorry that you have to make this decision at 13 <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

my sister has a bi-pap (and so does my dad but for sleep apnea) and it really helped her feel SO much better during the mornings/days because her body wasn't fighting as hard to breathe while she slept. It gives your poor body a much needed break, so you have more energy to spend throughout the day. Totally worth the few rough nights it takes to get used to it. Good luck!

I slept with a bipap when I was younger and it was great. It did take some adjustment, and I hated the smell of it (might've been whatever my parents used to sterilize it), it's one of those smells that I'll never, ever forget, but I did get used to it and it was well worth the discomfort and annoyance that I experienced at first. When I woke up I actually felt rested and awake and not SOB after a night of "sleep coughing".
