So this article is cool for several reasons:
1. A promising CF med has reached its enrollment goal for its Phase III trial. What does that mean? It means we've gotten enough CFers in the clinical trial so once the trial is finished, the data can be analyzed and submitted to the FDA (if the data is positive).
Hats off to the CFer's who participated! Thank you guys so much!!!!!
2. Some have asked "how long does it take for a medicine at Phase II or Phase III to get to the market." This article does a good job of explaining the obstacles in clinical trials.
Although recruitment has ended for this drug, results of the trial won't be available for another year. Then and only then will the data be submitted to the FDA for analysis and hopeful approval.
