Can I take Mucinex when I'm on

I just started Merem IV's today and will be starting inhaled Colistin tomorrow (for the first time).

My chest is so tight with mucus tonight and I was wondering if I could take Mucinex with these meds to break it up?

It should be fine. My boys take mucinex twice a day every day even when they are on IVs. I don't believe there is any reason not to take it when on IVs. Josh just finished 3 weeks of merepenem and tobra with no problem.

Our doctor is aware and hasn't questioned it.
