Candida infection

Have any of you ever had a candida infection in your blood? This is Bengalsfan's wife and he is in the hospital here locally for this right now. I know it is fairly common in cultures, and they are saying that it probably started at his port site when he last did the IV meds and was not caught and traveled into the blood, so they are removing that Monday. If anybody has any info on this we would be appreciative of anything we can find out. This is the first time anything like this has happened.

I had never heard of it thus cant help u. I tried to look it up on the internet, but with my impatience was unable to locate info connected to port sites. I hope someone with more knowledge can give some input for you!
