I know.. I know.. it's best to use Quest or Ambry. I suggested this to my cousin but her doctor is sending it to LabCorp. Anyone had any good or bad experiences with their process?
It seems to me their extended panel states it is a whopping 70 mutations. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> . All of us here know that isn't very much, considering there are 1300 known mutations.
is there any chance in pursuading her doctor? Many do go with the "cheaper" places first, but if she's going to end up wanting a 1300+ mutation planel someday, why not just do it initially.
Just wanted to let you all know that my father's brother's daughter Jessica age 29 - one of 3 of my first cousins - is NOT a carrier of the two genes I possess. Of course, she could have another gene that came from her mother's side but everything looks good. LabCorp. only tested her for 70 mutations but at least my two are on that list. She seems relieved. I don't think she realized how much she was worried about it. I'm glad she isn't a carrier but was sort of curious to find out which side of my family carries which gene.
