Chest Pain - I know there are a million of these

So I've been experiencing severe chest pain on and off, in the center of my chest right around my heart. It's not respiratory, other than when it's going on it hurts to breathe. I've never had any heart problems other than fast heartbeat which is common in CF. I do have a Dr.'s appointment scheduled, but was wondering if any of you have had something similiar. I can feel it in the front and back of my chest, right around my heart, radiating outward. I was wondering if it could be caused by bowing of the sternum common in severe cases? I'm particularly interested in responses from those who have bowing of the sternum. Thanks all for your help and imput!
