chest tightness

I've been having tightness in the chest/shortness of breath lately. I don't feel overly congested just tight and more short of breath than usual. Albuturol doesn't help a whole lot. Any suggestions or thoughts as to what could be causing it. The only change in meds has been H. Saline which I've been on for over a month.

I wouldnt let it go. I had that a month ago & am still on iv's. Mine was more from allergies of sorts compounded by the affects of my saline. Tho it helped me cough up a bunch of crap in the midst of coughing & coughing, my doc thinks it closed me down. Last year it happened in Spring & I waited to long since I never had the problem before & I was in/out of the hospital on/off iv's & took me until fairly recently to be feeling good then BOOM! It could very well be allergies.....

No I didn't inhale the oil of oregano. I was thinking it could be allergies as well since I live VA. My pft's were bad last year in May as well, but I didn't feel this tight.

I see where chest tightness is a side effect. This is difficult because I don't want to stop using it because it clears me out so well. Not sure what to do now.

I had this exact same problem, and it turns out that I have plugs. That's why I'm in hospital on IVs - to get rid of the plugs. You could also try Symbicort or Pulmicort to try to help with the tightness as well.
