Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of chron's disease or ulcerative colitis in their families. Our daughter has CF and my husband has colitis. I also know another mom that has chron's and another with colitis. The dr's say there is no study to show that carriers have either condition but my husband and I are curious to know if this is a coincidence or if there may be something to it.AM

AM~That is so weird because I have CF and my dad has colitis. I never really thought about his colitis having to do with being a carrier, but I do know that many people believe carriers often have health issues whether its sinus problems or whatever. I guess colitis could very well be one of those. Its just interesting that in both our families the father has colitis and the daughter has CF. CF is such a weird disease...Emily 19w/CF

I am a mom of two with CF. My mother has colitis. Although, she has never been genotyped to be the one I received the gene from -- her nationality is more common to have CF. I know that studies have shown that CF carrier have pancreatitis (whatever that is).

Hey, My son has CF and I have crohns disease. I have always wondered if there is a connection. My crohns has affected my pancreas a lot. I've had pancreatitis at least 12 times, my gallbladder removed, and was on enzymes for a long time. I don't have cf, but find it strange that i've had so many CF complications.
