I went to my sneaker store today to pick up a few things I needed and when I walked in the owner was so happy to see me, she wanted to tell me about this girl with CF that is in the "Runners World" magazine...
She turns to the page and of course it is a full story about Emily and how running has improved her lung function so much.....
I bought three copies of the magazine, one for me and I am going to give one to my RT so she can read it and give it to another CFer who might need it.
I am not a runner by any stretch of the imagination.. I do walk fast/jog a 5k dam, about 5-6 days a week and my times are getting faster..
I have to say, I have used the vest for years and never coughed a thing up, now with this fast walking/jogging hopefully soon to be running, my lungs are bringing a bunch of stuff up, whatever the case turns out to be with my genetics, either way, exercise sure does improve your lung function..
I just wanted to say if you get a chance read the article, it is great, informative about CF, and you get a sneak look into more of Ms Amazing.. AKA Emilys life...
GO Emily, what a great role model
