Cost(s) of Medicated IUI?

I spent some time today researching prices without insurance coverage, but I'd like some figures please from those who have been down the path before me. I'm not trying to be nosey, but my insurance won't pay for anything the cycle we will do IUI.

For the 2-3 cycles of Clomid only, insurance will pay for everything, even for the Clomid. They will pay for all the monitoring and bloodwork.

The minute I say I'm going to do IUI everything changes which is crap as far as I'm concerned.

I would be looking at prices for Clomid + IUI. (Ultrasounds and bloodwork.) *I know Clomid is $9.00 a month at Walmart.*

I would be looking at prices for Clomid + trigger + IUI.
(Ultrasounds and bloodwork.)

I'm not considering shots in place of Clomid at this time because of cost and risk of multiples.

How many IUIs per cycle did you do too if you don't mind? Did you do one or two?

What fundraising ideas have you done? I'm quite creative but would appreciate your ideas.

I would like to gather as much info by March 16th. At that time, I will lay everything out on the table for Jake. I think he will do it, but only after I find as much out beforehand as possible. Also, the more money I can make on the side, the better. The more we have to dip into our money market account, the less likely Jake will be with me.

It still will take lots of persuading, but I think after a couple days, he'll be with me. <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

Thank you.

I want to make something VERY CLEAR before anyone thinks anything incorrectly.

We can afford all our cycles without the need for outside financing. However, I'm looking deeper into ways to create a side fund WITHOUT any kind of donations whatsoever. I WILL NOT ACCEPT DONATIONS SINCE WE CAN AFFORD THE CYCLES OURSELVES.

I don't want anyone to think for one second that I'm going to take from others!!!!!!!!

Okay, any ideas...

I can't give you specifics but for our 3 IUI's with femara and a trigger shot, ended up costing us around 6000-6500. That was also with the HSG and semen analysis (i believe). I figured around 2000-2500 per cycle. We did one IUI each cycle. I wasn't aware you could do more than one IUI per cycle...???

Lamp - Some women do (2) IUIs per cycle. Statistics don't conclude that there is a higher rate of pregnancy, though...

What is Femara? Is that like Clomid? Is it an ovulatory drug?

If it is going to cost $2,500, then we will probably do (2) cycles. That still is a lot of money...I was hoping for between $1,500 - $2,000...

Does your clinic offer 'deals' like IF you pay for (2) cycles up front then you can receive a 20% discount??? Some clinics do offers like that. That would be a more affordable way for us. I'd rather take money out of our savings to get the discount...

Thank you.
