Deal or No Deal!!!

Tonight and Friday, according to the CFF website, there will be a 26-year-old woman with CF on Deal or No Deal. Just thought some people might like to know.

Thanks for letting us know.
This got me to thinking....if I were on Deal or No Deal would I advertise the fact that I had CF? I guess if they asked what I would do with the money and I was using it for medical bills or to raise funds for a lung transplant, then I would most likely tell.
Otherwise I wouldn't just say "My name is Lynda and I have CF". OK everyone, go ahead and say "Hi Lynda". *sounds like an AA meeting*
What about everyone else? Would you just come out & announce that you had CF if you weren't using the money for a CF related expense?

I'd only tell if the opportunity came up. If I coughed and someone asked, or if I was using the money for related expenses, stuff like that. I love any opportunity to educate, but I wouldn't just jump in with "Hi I'm Emily, I have CF." I know someone who's a lesbian. She's a good person. But when you meet her she's immediately like "Hi I'm Sally, I'm a lesbian" and it's just like whoa... uhm, okay?

Yeah that's a hard one.
I'd want to help raise awareness for cf, and especially if I need the money for urgent medical bills. But I'm already not thrilled about how much of my life my CF takes up, and I don't like to have it define me.
Very AA.

She's a double-lung transplant recipient (2 months ago) and openly said that she had CF, etc. on the air. Well the host asked about the rose arrangement that she's wearing and she explained that it stood for the disease she had (65 roses, cystic fibrosis) blah blah blah.
And is using a bag with numbered ping pong balls to narrow the field..

I don't see anything wrong with her telling folks she has CF. After all, she is donating the funds to raise $$ for research. That's an incredible thing as I am sure she has expenses from her surgery that she could have used the money for.

Just my two cents....

ah-now I see. Wow-she's donating it to CF? That's amazing. She rocks!!

I wish I had seen it but unfortunately I missed it. Anyone know if there will be a rerun?

I hope she wins the million, I had seen the post earlier that she was going to be on so I tuned in. I will watch the final on Friday. Good for her and I think it was great to get CF awareness out there!

I watched it, and she was cute, way too perky for me, but cute. I however, learned why I don't watch deal or no deal lol.

Perky or not, you have to admit she has a cool name (Alley).

I agree, she was cute. She looked like she was enjoying a whole new lease on life...good for her. I hope she continues to do well post tx.

I didn't hear where she was donating money to CFF. Was that announced or on the CF website? If it was mentioned on air, how much you wanna bet they'll throw in extra money or the 'banker' will be generous in his offers? We'll see....

Kaitsmom- I also had tears in my eyes and I am thinking that if she wins big I will just cry like a baby- I just can't help it. Anyone with CF I feel very close to even if I don't know them. She is so full of life and it made me feel so happy for her. I also did not hear that she was going to donate the money, but that just tells you how much more special she is! She has to have so many medical bills! Bless her heart (and new lungs)!

If I was on that show, I would hope I could time my death while answering a question. That would so own.

I agree with Allie, WAY too perky. The balls in the bag thing was cute, but I got really tired of her dancing. But, I admire her openness about CF. Hope she wins the mil.
