Jo, I think all of us can relate. We all feel "blue" and down at times. It's completely normal, afterall, we have a lot to deal with. I, too just hate it when I find out I am going to have to deal with yet another set of problems, but somehow we all make it through. God gives us the strength. No matter how sorry I feel for myself, there is always someone out there that has it worse.
I, too have CF related diabetes & take a Prandin pill with meals. Depending on what your blood sugars are reading, maybe you could suggest a pill to your Dr's. I know that insulin is the best, especially if you need to gain weight too. Just trust your Dr to tell you the best option for your case.
Those insulin needles are small and after a few times, I bet you don't even notice that it's a big deal. Maybe some others can share their experience w/ needles with you. I know the finger pricks are no big deal after I got the courage to do it the first couple of times.
I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless

One thing to note... and it may sound bad BUT its so true...
With CF needles are a part of life... you will overcome that phobia. And besides, the needles used to give yourself insulin are so tiny they dont hurt.
I have CFRD and give shots every day. I cant even FEEL the shots!
So as far as needles go dont be scared.

As for the other part of being depressed I cant say im an expert. I get depressed often too.
I think everyone (or most ppl ) in this world get depressed more than they show.
The key is to find someone to talk to and find things to get whats bothering you off your mind.

I wasn't too thrilled about the needles either. However, the needles that are used are the smallest on the market. They look like a little piece of hair, they are so tiny & thin. And honestly, when I stick myself in the arm, I don't feel it. It's that tiny. Don't worry about the needles, but do worry about what will happen if you don't get your sugars under control.

good luck
