Hi...I am a single 36yr old female with CF. I have just moved to Ontario from BC and I have a question. For about a week now I have had diareaha....well actually I'm peeing outta my bum. I am drinking lots of water. My question is can the change in climate, moving from BC to Ontario have this kind of affect on your body? I was ok b4 I moved and I haven't changed anything, eating habits are still the same. I am also gassy and bloated...but that's nothing unusual. So is causing all this diareaha? Help!!!!!

Do you take enzymes? You say your always gassy and bloated. So if you do take enzymes you may need a stronger dose so your not bloated. Once in a while we all go through a time with watery diahria. It all has to do with our digestion of food. Could you possibly have a partial blockage? Do you usally go normal? I just went through approx 4 weeks of diahria and then I was constipated as well but if I did go it was diahria. The dr. gave me some stuff called go lightly and after about 4 days it went away. I'm still getting back to normal but she said I may have had a partial blockage. Hope you get some answers.

It 's spelled diarrhea..... lol The only time i had a problem with it was when i would first go on Cipro. Now after being on it a bit more often thru the years i dont get the diarrhea anymore. I hope you find the solution to your problem. I was thinking since you moved recently, it may be that your body isnt used to the water where you moved to. A lot of times when you drink water from somewhere different ,the water is different than what your body was used to from where you lived. Good luck

Where in Ontario do you live? Did you make sure there is no water boil warning.. if you're anywhere near lake erie they like to have those a lot. It could just be the different bacteria in the water or something making you sick (like when you drink the water in mexico). You can try and wait till you body gets used to it, or try boiling the water.

I hate Cipro for just that reason. I can't be on it and have a job or school at the same time, because when I'm on it, I feel I need to be near a bathroom at ALL times. I still go on it sometimes.. but the last few times it has only torn up my intestines and done nothing for my lungs. Heh. Figures, right? I do find I have a little more trouble when on IV meds as well, but after being on Cipro, I hardly notice that change. lol

Ashley,

I am form St. Catharines. In case you don't know where it is, it's about 10 minutes from Niagara Falls.

I know where that is. I just moved to Kitchener from Windsor. I don't know if they have any bacteria problems around there with the water. BTW, what hospital do you go to. I've been seen in Toronto since I was diagnosed (since the idiot doctors in windsor almost killed me). I think if it hasn't stopped, you should call your clinic and ask them.

Oh yeah, with cipro, I never find diarreah(sp), but I did notice that, it being a very stong antibiotic it gives me yeast infections everytime.

Antibiotics of any kind can easily give you a yeast infection any/every time. Especially, the stronger ones. But it's a VERY common side effect. I take over the counter pills to help with this. Try out AZO yeast, and/or acidophilus.
