Sounds great for the very ill
Sounds wonderful for desperate situations but of course not all lung recipients would need to have their own lungs removed and wait for donor lungs.

I saw this story going around on Facebook. I can't imagine how incredibly scary it was to be in that situation. If patients get to that point it's definitely a do or die moment. Might as well go for it!
