Doing gymnastics with a mickey button

Hi. My daughter has started gymnastics recently and she has a mickey button. The first few weeks her site was irritated but seems to be better now. My husband and I worry about her doing gymnastics and having the mickey, especially the bars. Does anyone have any experience with this?
