FLOODING (UPDATED AGAIN)

We are making national news today due to El Paso, TX flooding.

We are in the middle of the desert, and 4 days of rain is just more than this town can handle. We are also right next to the Rio Grande River which is expected to overflow. The rain does not look like it is going to let up for the next week.

Just wanted to let all know that so far we are doing fine. Our roof has really suffered and we have leaks EVERYWHERE. Other than that we are good. We live in a little town right outside of El Paso, and it is high up so I am hoping the flooding will not get us.

We are expected to lose power tonight due to a storms from the north and one from the northwest hitting us at the same time.

Please keep the people of El Paso in your thoughts.

We have plenty of food, and plenty of meds for Courtney, so we should be okay.

FLOODING

By now, I'm sure you're not reading this in real time as you might not have elec. I hope you stocked up on water and a few supplies. In 1993, Des Moines was in the great 500 yr flood that hit midwest. We didn't have electricityfor 5 days, or water for two weeks! Hope you don't have to suffer much. Let us know how you're doing.

FLOODING

Thank you so much for the kind words.

We REALLY lucked out! It stopped raining about 8:00 last night, and the two big storms that were suppose to hit us went around us.

El Paso suffered a lot of damage, but there were no deaths and that is the most important thing.

Thank you all!!

FLOODING

If you have not heard on the news, El Paso had some more SEVERE flooding tonight.

I was VERY terrifying. My hubby and kids were out on the roads when it hit. I was at work. I sat there watching on the TV the roads flood knowing my whole family was traveling those roads. My hubby said on some roads the water was almost coming in through the doors.

Thank goodness they got home safe.

There are MANY families homeless tonight. The water is 5 ft high in their houses. Please keep these people in your thoughts.

Just wanted to let everyone know we are doing okay.

They were able to drain the dam that was close to breaking, so that threat is gone. We have no further damage to the roof, and Courtney is doing okay.

The phone, electricity, and internet come and go, but we are all safe.

We can actually see the sun today although storms are still expected all week.

Thank you to everyone for all of the PMs and messages. It is nice to know so many care!!
