Follow-up after sinus surgery

Hi,

I know there is another thread about sinus surgery, but this one is a little different. I had sinus surgery about 4 years ago, and I am now being adviced to have it again. Unfortunately, the dr. only does the surgery on Tues (which is REALLLY inconvenient). I am wondering how soon I can get back to work. I figured I will definitely need to take Wed, but do you think it would be reasonable to be back on Thursday?

Thanks!

Depending on how extensive the surgery is, (whether the surgeon needs to make your sinus cavities wider to offset inflammation) it's not completely unreasonable to be back at work on Thursday. I had sinus surgery last month and felt great almost immediately after the procedure. The only thing I had some trouble with was pain, but that was easily managed.

Good luck!

I just had a pretty extensive procedure a year ago (revision of previous surgery, ethmoidotomy, turbinate reduction and septoplasty). I had the surgery on Friday and returned to work on Tuesday. I felt well enough to return earlier than that but I had splints and some packing and it doesn't look good when your paramedic shows up looking worse than you do <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
