Friend Of CF Pt.

Hi, to every one who sees this. My name is John Dombrowski and
growing up I had a very good friend who had CF. Due to my family
being Military and then later on Myself becoming a soldier, I have
lost touch with him. Furthermore, it didn't help that he was always
going from State to state to get treatments in different hospitals.
So, for the past 20 years I have been trying to find my friend. His
name is Jimmy Cobb, ( James) and I can't remember if his middle
name was Robert or Lee. We grew up together in Augusta, Georgia. He
spent a lot of time at a CF project in Florida and also at the
Children's Hospital in Atlanta. He would be about 35 or 36 today
and I know it's a long shot and that I'm looking for a needle in a
haystack but this is very important to me and I am willing to go
the distance to find him no matter the outcome. Any correspondence

Hi John,

I do not want to get your hopes up, but wanted to let you know I will ask around to see if anyone in the area knows of your friend. I am located in North Florida. I am about 5-6 hours from Atlanta, in Jacksonville. There is a Peds CF Clinic here that your friend may have been seen at (Nemours Childrens Clinic) if he came to North Florida (just a possibility). There is also an Adult CF Center 1 - 1.5 hours away and a new Adult CF Center opening in Jacksonville as well. I am 24, so I am not the same age as your friend, but still in the adult CF world now. I will ask the ladies at the CF Foundation's local chapter - they seem to keep pretty good tabs on the adult CFers, and also I will ask if they can keep their ears open and let me know.

I want to add that for some reason that name sounds really familiar - but more as a James Cobb than Jimmy. That is a big reason I am going to be asking around. I do not want to get your hopes up for no reason, but wanted to let you know I will ask around in the coming days. I will post with any info that I get. Also to let you know it may be several days as I am having a "sick" visit to the docs office and it is a new doc (so I don't know how he will want to handle it i.e. hospital or oral meds).

I really appreciate any help you might be able to give me. He did go to the hospital in Northern Florida quite a few times but it has been so long ago that I cane vaguely remember the details of his hospital visits. I have so little to go on but hopefully, in the end, I'll be able to find him again. If for any reason your lead turns out to be true and his memory is as bad as mine just remind him that we used to cut school to go fishing and that we rode our bikes 30 miles to go fishing at Clarks Hill... If he remembers that then it is Jimmy. But like you said, I'm not getting my hopes up, however, I am keeping my fingers crossed! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I just went to switchboard.com and found that there are 61 James Cobb's in Florida alone.....so good luck<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I just did not realize that that name is so common.
Hopefully someone here will know him.

Yeah I did a search last night too. I found several James Cobbs in my area. One hopeful thing though ... I did come across 1 James Robert Cobb. We shall see I hope to talk to the ladies at the CFF in the coming days.

I appreciate every thing you guys are doing and have done. this
truly means a lot to me. I am also continuing the search on my end
and through tireless hours of just trying to remember I finally got
an Idea as to his mothers Name. It was Joann Kholey but I could be
mistaken and my searches have turned up just one match in CA. but
no phone, just an address, but it's worth a shot. Also I beleive he
had a sister named Adrienne (SP)<br>
