Just looking for some thoughts..... Jason started with the adenovirus 3 weeks ago. It wouldn't go away and he needed to eventually be hospitalized as the cf symptoms exacerbated. Xray showed some - not enough to be considered pnemonia. Pulse ox was 84 too. He was in for a week on fluids, oxygen, antibiotics - maxipine, and steroids. Xrays looked better, didn't need oxygen or iv fluids anymore. Culture only grew normal flora. Home on keflex and increased treatments. 1 week later - 102 fever and cough returning. Called clinic this am - they said up the treatments to every 2 to 3 hours for the next 2 treatments then back to every 4. Add steroids back in and start TOBI cycle 1 week early. As long as hydrated and not in distress breathing, check back in 24 to 48 hours.

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Not sure if this is Jason's problem, but when I had a hospital visit and got out and my cough started almost immediately back up, it was from inflammation. You might look at what is in your home environment that could be contributing. For me, dogs, seasonal allergies (open window), dust mites... There are many posts about this area of CF. You might try some searches for help. Also, Nightwriter is a well of information on this topic. Lots of luck!

Can't help you on the fever part. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I never run a fever even when I am hospitalized for a flareup.
