Just thought I'd share a something that I found amusing. In my 36 years as a CF patient I've heard a lot of things, but this was a new one.
I went to the lab at my CF hospital to have my blood drawn a couple days ago. I sit down in the chair and as the phlebotomist is looking at the orders and getting her supplies ready I give her my standard "I have really scarred and virtually non-existent veins, they usually have the best luck with a butterfly needle." Her reply "It's okay, I draw hamsters blood. If I can draw blood from a hamster, I can draw yours." Hmm.... Well there you have it folks.. HA! I guess her previous career was a vet tech. To her credit, she did get it on the first try.
Anyway, thought I'd share something light-hearted. I know we've all heard some good ones from medical professionals over the years, so feel free to chime in with any.
