I'm in tears here at my desk. Eric was great, I enjoyed the talks I had with him, and I'll miss him. It's always the good ones...

I dont want to sound ignorant (no comments from some people please), but is EB24=Eric? I guess I never knew his first name if this is true. I am very saddened by this news & send my thoughts to the family!

This is very sad news. He had a very frightening time a few weeks back and I've been wondering how he was. My thoughts go to his family.

Melissa, yes, I believe EB24 = Eric. Must be a family member signed on his name to let us know.

To Eric's family... damnit. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

never any good to hear news like this but one can only assume he is better off and fighting cf anymore... its news like this that really puts things into perspective and reminds of how fragile we are and how our disagreements don't really mean that much in the grand scheme of things. no one is ever promised a tomorrow but i think we forget that sometimes...

sorry about the loss of a fellow fighter...

I was going to ask the same thing, and I also thought it must have been a family member signing on. I remember seeing his screen name a few times, but I never knew he was really sick. Just thought he was another cystic with kind of crappy lungs like many of us. So sucky. I'm so sorry for your loss, I will be thinking of him today, even though him and I never had any in depth discussions that I could recall. I wish I could have gotten to know him more.

I did a search to read more about him and his past posts. What a sweet sweet person! Geez!

Below is a very enlightening post of his from last December that I thought everyone would appreciate:

I was just sitting here thinking about random stuff as I usually do, and I was just thinking of everyone and the holidays. I wish everyone to have the best holiday they can. Whether or not you have lost someone, remember they are always with you, especially now. For those of us that stuggle constantly, stay strong and keep fighting. For everyone else, keep doing what you are doing and be there for each other in your lives. Sorry this sounds so sappy, but I just hope everyone can have a wonderful time. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year.

I also never knew him or had any discussions with him, but he will be in my thoughts as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to Eric's family.

About the only gripe I have about this site is that it doesn't hold onto messages for any real period of time, it only goes back a little ways then they aren't available via the search feature (atleast the old software was like that). That sucks for times when one of us pass away, and you would like to search for their posts and read them and give your own mental goodbye to the person and enjoy their perspectives on things. Of course this is a great site, but I would like to see that changed just for those reasons.
