I am currently listed for transplant and although no on is pushing me to get a g-tube. i know they'd be more than happy to put one in.
day to day is a struggle. my lung function is at around 20%. i have been on IV's nonstop pretty much since december. I had gotten down low to like 94 but was able to gain back up to about 102. However just a week of a gallbladder issue and i dropped down to 97 again. I am doing my regular thing to gain the weight back, but sometimes i think about how it might be easier to just give in to a g-tube
i am concerned though about adding another entry site to my body -- concerned about complications and infections. also another thing i need to manage. i am also hesitant to be sedated because of my low lung function and already severe difficulty breathing. i dont want to knock myself down a peg by going through the procedure, though im not sure how i'd react to sedation - its been so long since i've had it.
any thoughts on pros/cons?
thx
