I've posted over the past few weeks abt my stomach issues I am PS but have been hvg, on and off for more than a month now severe pain, which I thought was my acid reflux. We did a GO-Lightly last month and that helped for abt 2 weeks. Then the pain was back like a knife in my chest. Today 2nd visit to gasto doctor had a upper endoscopy he said there was no movment in my stomach at all. He said possible Gastroparesis? Now I have to go for another test to be postive which is called Gastric emptying. OMG I am so tired of all this. But I pulled some info offline and it said there were 2 drugs used, Reglan and I've seen it menioned a few times here in different forums, also Erythromycin which does not agree with me from yrs ago. If you have used these drugs or have this condition, someone please write me, or alot of people write me. I wld /need to hear what you have to say. I apprecaite all yr. posts always. The info said it is alot of times related to diabetes, which I do not have? Thanks to you all. Pat/55/CF

Pat - I had pain in the top of my stomach right below my breast bone for about 10 years on and off. I was told everything from ulcer to refulx to possible gastroparesis. In the end it was my gall bladder all along. Have they investigated your gb (unless of course you already had it out but you can still develop sones in your ducts)? Gb pain tends to be upper right quadrant but only until I ended up severly ill with a blocked duct and a sick liver did I get pain in the upper right. Even when I had the gall bladder "attack" pain it was all middle below my sternum. And I didn't have gall bladder attacks for 10 years - just dull pain that would last for a few days to a few weeks - the attacks only came at the very end right before I got sick and had my gb out. Just wanted to put that out there as something to consider - not all gall bladder pain is where it is "supposed" to be. Oh and how did your doctor know you had no movement in your stomach - wasn't it empty for the upper endoscopy? The gastric emptying study should give you some definitive answers.

There are lots of people with cf and gastroparesis so I hope you can get some answers if that is what you have. Good luck. Dealing with pain is no fun.

Just wanted to add - I had an upper endoscopy about a year ago to see if I had an ulcer (I didn't) and the GI doc said it must just be reflux - which we found out later was not true either.

Thank you Caroline for taking the time to write me. I had my gall bladder out more than 20yrs ago. But I do have acid reflux for a few yrs now. When he did the upper endoscopy he said there was no movment at all in the stomach area, he said the stomach shd have movement even if it is empty? So the gastric emptying test is on Thurs. not lookg forward to that, but have to do it. I've been in pain for 9 days straight now the pain is under my left breast which he said is the top of my stomach area? I feel so dumb sometimes I shd know where all my organs are, but I still get confused. I shouldn't admit that on line AHHHHHH as Gilda said ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING - you may be too young to remember her she was a actor on Sat.Night Live.THanks again for the input I do appreciate it.
