Hi Guys.
Quick question. I never have a productive cough except when I catch a cold..which is rare...so I never have a productive cough.

Anyway, I have always had bronchospasm with inhaled drugs and have never been able to take them for more than a few days. Well, I don't know what has changed, but all the sudden (thank you Lord) I can inhale HTS, my glutathione and one oher drug. It has been almost two weeks and now I am doing fine....I had pain in my lungs the first few days and now no pain.

My exercise tolerance is the same....na change there.

My only question is I have developed a REALLY productive cough....rumbly way down there. I am coughing up dark old crap and soem new lighter yellow. Oh, also, my doc said 2 weeks ago that he wanted to bronch me because he can't figure out why I can't get anything up....never can get a culture in the last year.

Well, is this an exacerbation or am I just moving old crap. I don't feel bad although all this coughing junk up is rather tiring. Also, I coughed up a little in the night last night to clear my big airways and I never have to do that...ever.

Is is possible to get old stuff up with HTS and not have an exacerbation? I pray so!!!

Any advice is very appreciated!!

Oh, and one other thing. My last ct scan 2 weeks ago was better than the one in October which was better than the one in July....how is that possible without bringng up junk?

I know Chris' cough become more productive when he started his GSH nebbing.

He thought it was getting a ton of stagnant gunk out from the depths of his lungs.

One piece of advice - while your cough is productive, go get that sputum culture. Although it doesn't sound like you're sick, and your cough may in fact turn back to normal after you get all your gunk out, it will be very useful in the future to know what your'e colonized with.

I'm so glad to hear that you are able to neb again! Joy!

I'm wondering why you are getting ct scans so often...seems dangerous.

Moving stuff out with cf is critical so I would say that it is not an exacerbation but linked to the fact that you are on a new regimen in the last two weeks. Before consenting to the bronch, now that you can cough stuff out get a culture on the mucus. It could be an exacerbation but if you are not feeling ill in any other way I would say it it's not and related to your new inhaled therapies.

You could cough the stuff out into dixie cups so you can measurably see how much you are producing. If it continues to increase then you might have an infection. Also color changes can obviously be the mark of an infection. For me I start out dark khaki color in the am 2-3 coughs and then it's light yellow the remainder of the day.

If i had to guess, the combo of HTS and GSH is getting old crap moving around coughing it out.

When I started HTS I got out a ton of crap for the first few weeks then it died down and leveled off. and When I started GSH I got out old that dark green crap too, which also leveled off after a few weeks.
