I have to reply to my own thread. I just searched this Haemophilus and found four threads already posted in the family section on this subject. I should have checked that first. There is some really good explanations of what it's all about if anyone is interested, have a look.

It's a bacteria, not a CF virus.

2nd most common pathogen next to Strep. Peumo for sinusitis, bronchitis and pneumonia.

I wondered about it when it showed up on DS's cultures, because they're vaccinated for it -- HIB and local doctors weren't too concerned about it. Seemed to show up when he had sinus problems/infections. He hasn't cultured it for over a year and a half, which also coincides with when he was put on zithromax.

Cheyenne cultures this every time they do sputum cultures. Now she is also culturing Moraxcella Catarrhalis.
