I dunno, i just woke up...had a up of coffee, and started reading the whole attack posse thread...and i couldn't help but laugh.

It's funny cause I think people think they are kinda hidden behind what they write, and they can say anything they want without fear of being judged, or what not.

Everyone reads these forums...they read your posts. So if you continually write things that are obtuse...agressive and just plain stupid...people see that. Don't think because you write it people don't take it as seriously as you said it. I think sometimes people forget this and they just write what comes to mind.

Remember that these are public forums, they aren't just reserved for us. People come here from all over to get information...to see what's going on in the community. I wonder what some of them must think sometimes when they read a 5 page flamming post on something as trivial as a signature. It makes me laugh <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Kyle, I saw the same thing. Gone from my laptop all day, come to check on my stuff and find that whole thing all ridiculous and already locked. Mandi had a reasonable question, Sean had a ridiculous (possibly amusing, depending on who you are) answer which was followed by useful ones. And everyone freaked the hell out. Ahahahaa. Kind of glad I missed it. What a waste of time.

Kiel, since you posted what I interpreted as an open ended statement, I'll just share what I think the problem *might* have been.

It wasn't so much the question that mandi asked (and who can blame her, if you weren't here to see/hear what happened, it can make you curious and you just want an answer as to what it's all about) but rather about the answer that she was given and the manner in which it was given.

All in all, I don't think there was anything wrong with the qustion and a majority of the responses. There is clearly a segmented opinion (I won't go so far as to call it a group, because it doesn't always come across that way) about what's nice and what's not nice and how we should treat eachother. That's life though, and everyone shares how they feel about it.

And for those of us who join it, I'm just reminded that it means something to all of us. Not the same for everyone, but it means something so what's wrong with voicing your opinion about it? Clearly that's just the same thing you are doing here.

Well we "found out what people must think" because poor mandi got a sample after expressing her reaction. People seemed so surprised that other people who are new sometimes react that way. <u>I'm</u>still new, but I at least cruised around for a while--getting to know people. I'm <i>still</i> getting to know all of you. I think the people that get scared away now probably wouldn't have lasted here long anyway. If they stick around they'll see the chemistry that makes this site so "interesting". I think Julie was so right about how we handle/react to new opinions--we must remember to be kind.

Awwww shucks.....I think you just like the abuse, Terri. I mean you cruised around before you decided to stop in for a taste. Once you tasted it for some reason you choice to stay......Just like the old Song from the Eagles called Hotel California~~~You can check in, but you can never leave! LOL!

I would tend to disagree Ender, but to each his own I suppose. She was just new and didn't understand what the sig. meant. If I was new, I'd probably ask the same question if I were curious and wondering what the heck.

Her next response was a very emotional one, but given the responce she recieved from SD, who wouldn't have reacted that way (not knowing him and not being forewarned)? I know you two are buddies, and that's fine, but it doesn't excuse the consistantly rude (as many, maybe not all of us interpert it to be) behavior. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to look and see how long someone has been a member. I'll I was thinking is "just cut her some slack".

Oh well, over and done with I suppose. I just feel bad she got treated as she did. I'm do hope she'll stick around.
