I have wondered this for a few years now, and yesterday after writing about it in an email ,i remembered you are a hairdresser and maybe you know the answer. All my life i had poker straight hair. even when i got a perm it went right back to straight within a month. When i was about 36 i noticed a hair or two that looked to be wavy or even curly. well lo and behlod here i am at 41 and my hair is now wavy. Some spots more wavy than others. Its odd my hair is still straight right in the front, but the sides and back are wavy. Odd i know.... What gives? Do you have any idea why these crazy things happen? If i remember correctly, this also happened to my mom ,so maybe its genetics. Its odd because i remember years ago using curlers to get some wave and body and now i am using large rollers to get some straightness....lol

Hormones changing can change your hair texture, a lot of women notice their hair changes when they have kids, menopause, etc..... especially since it happened to your Mom. And it doesn't happen all over, sad but true, I knew a woman who got curly hair after she was pregnant and it was really really curly, sad thing was it was only the back bottom half of her hair!!!!!! so she either permed the top or we chemically straighted the bottom. I hope you like your curls! If I didn't answer question good enough let me know.

Thank you so much for the input. The good thing is i finally have some body to my hair and it isnt really curly ( which is good) , it kind of looks like i got a perm and it's growing out. Its just odd that when perms were "in" i had the straightest hair, and now that straight hair is "in" my hair is wavy...... I started to wonder if it was all the antibiotics .... maybe that contributed to it also who knows. Hormones sounds more likely i think. Thanks again <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
