Mike and I got a puppy!!! He is a black standard poodle named London. He is only 11 weeks old but already 20 pounds. He is going to be HUGE! Probably 80 pounds. Mike is happy with his job as stay at home dad- I am wicked jealous, I can't wait to go home! We're giving him a bath tonight. Just thought I would share fun happy news. And for others waiting for a transplant, this has really kept Mike busy and happy this week! (although he still has the health and energy and lots of help- might not be right for everyone!) So that's my news, I'll post pictures soon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Message boards kept me sane in college... It's a good break when lectures/studying cause your brain to start dribbling out your ears.

Puppies are the best! You know they say, having a pet around and petting them has been shown to decrease stress and possible add a few years to ones life. Anyone else heard of that? Sounds very strange saying that on this forum, I know, but I swear I've always thought that people have said that and "studies" have shown....? Sounds very strange though. Anyways, I like to believe it. Love them. And I really like the name London! What a great name for a big dog.

When the time comes for my husband and I to get another one, we're going to get another Newfoundland (he wants a male but I want a female, so who knows what we'll end up with) and call him Dualy (as in a big dualy truck/big semi/12 wheeler - pronounced "Dooley"). We laugh everytime we start speaking of our future Dualy, because they're rear ends are just soooo wide! That name would fit a huge, wide, goofy Newfy.

I could talk about dogs all day.

Have fun tonight!

Here's a picture of our Newfy and her first bath! So cute. Yes, she's my little baby, now 2 years old.

Having an animal HAS been proven to lower blood pressure! We've been looking at our heart rate when pettign him too (with Mike's nifty monitor) and it's lower ;-)

my mother got 2 yorkshire terrier puppies about a month ago... they are about 10 or 11 weeks old... they are quite the opposite of "they're gonna be huge" as they are about 2 pounds each at the moment and should only get to be about 6 pounds average... she named them Harry and Sally...haha
