So without revealing too much for privacy purposes...I was working today at a school (I am a substitute in a number of towns in my area). So whenevr I get called, I just go to what ever place calls me first...b/c I never know if I will get aanother call. I had never subbed at this particular school today, so didnt know what to expect.

I had lunch duty with a bunch of other teachers and kids. Well one of the teachers takes a kid to the table I am sitting at and starts sucking up this stuff through a straw. I DID NOT in any way need or want to know what the stuff was. I simply oh thats cool, a neat way for a kid to take meds (thats all I was thinking)...and the teacher pops out with "Oh its a digestive enzyme." So here I am thinking (to myself) "wtf is that supposed to mean?!" So of course I keep thinking to myself "Oh ***** I hope the kid doesnt have CF" So for the rest of the period I stayed pretty much away. I then looked at the stdents lunch box and it said Enzyme before meal.

Has anyone ever heard of Digestive enzymes in a liquid form? B/c I didnt think our CF enzymes could be put into that form b.c of the enteric coating and all that jazz. Does anyone know of other diseases that might require enzymes? I researched it a bit and found that some people give autistic children enzymes and Chrohns and stuff like that (but how common is that in young children). I have always wondered what I would do if I ran into another CFer. I am only a sub, so I really cant tell all these schools that I have a disease, I dont want to be discriminated against if they have jobs available. Anyway, I just thought I would share, I thought that was pretty interesting.
