Even though this may be considered off-topic--I think that this horse embodied the same spirit I find here on this site--<b>the spirit of a champion--and of keeping up the fight</b> . . . I think he was a kindred spirit. He fought the good fight.

I cried for hours when Barbaro broke his leg. I love horses and believe that they are the only true athletes left. They don't race for the money or the fame..they race because they have heart and a competitive spirit. Many people say horses are stupid...I whole-heartedly disagree. I had one named Jenny who could figure out what I wanted her to do before I even told her..... She loved only me..and would do ANYTHING to make me happy. She was a jolly sort and was very particular about who rode her.....once again..only me. She bucked anyone off if I was around, I believe because she didn't want to seem disloyal.

Anyway, what happened to Barbaro is a tragedy and I for one was touched by his will to fight.

Yep Amy, it was ONLY a horse, and I should have put it in a blog, I guess. Did you only see the "horse", and not the spirit I was talking about? I wasn't being disrespectful. Looking at him, you saw a thing of beauty and strength. He fought a valiant fight for 8 months to live, but in the end was in so much pain--he couldn't go on. He was such a beautiful spirit--he made me think of the fight that all of you put up here--the race you run. Because Cf is a race--a race against time. People are dying because of disease, wars, famines--but we can still cry for a beautiful, loving animal too. And if it would have been a freaking dog/cat I would have posted it to!

LOL Amy,
i remember my dad always telling me when i was young that theres always one idiot in the crowd, and i love it when you always take it upon yourself to be the appointed one....
