Health Insurance Blues

I just got home from work.. Yippie for work...

As I was reading my mail I got a package from HR from my hospital.. They were giving me, as well as all the employee's the 2007 updates on the insurance..

I am so ticked....

All my rates are going up. my primary visit is going up but a lot each visit, and they are also changing our prescription plans... Great, more prices going up, up and away..

More sad news, they used to agree to pay 80 percent of the bill if I had to use a hospital that took blue cross blue shield, They now dropped it to have to only pay 70 percent.. Which means I can only use their hospital, which is not a CF center, or a real high level of care hospital...

If I am going to use my CF center either out patient or in patient I have to pay 30 percent of the bill.. (average hospital stay for me runs about $180,000.00... )

Also crapolla is that any test or procedure, including PFTS that is not going to be done at my hospital has to be Pre Certified.. That is total crap.. I don't have a HMO.. I pay for a PPO.....

I now have an automatic one THOUSAND dollar co pay for any service outside of my hospital. I have co insurance and all this other stuff...

No home infusions will be covered over 70 percent.. Period....

If by chance my hospital doesn't do whatever I need, tough luck, I am only covered 70 percent.... This ruins my shot of saying I have to go to my CF center because my hospital doesn't do CF care.. It is spelled out in black and white.... Like it was designed for me.... UGGGG....

My Co Pays to see my primary doctor are going to be 30 dollars a visit.. I am there sometimes weekley..

I can't bring myself to add how much it is going to cost me in prescriptions...

What a sad world that it is that unless I label myself as disabled, go on medicaid or SSDI... They make me pay through the nose..... I wish we could have insurance reps on here as sponors.. I would like to speak with them about a few things.. that is for sure...

Done venting....

That all sucks big time -- I know getting really good coverage any more is getting tougher to find.

Did you check out your out of pocket maximum $ amount -- often times that is somewhere in the $1000-$2500 per year, no matter what you don't pay anything more than your "out of pocket maximum" Check it out.... hopefully you will find some good news there. That might apply to everything except pharmacy.

Mediacl Insurance is such a joke, yes check that maximum out of pocket thing. I use to work for Humana Insurance for about a year, so if u have a question maybe I could help, or point u in the right direction. People always complaing about a certain insurance company being bad coverage, but it's not the insurance company, it's your employee that chose this certain policy. It's all a numbers games, a lot cheaper for the hospital to take this chesesy paln and a lot more money for insurance companies, they are the only winners in all this, their stocks are out of control. Your right, makes u just want to get public assistance, u might be actually paying out money on insurance to have a job.
